Vehicle Registration Certificate (V5C)

Also known as the Logbook or Registration Document.

This essential document issued by the DVLA contains details about a vehicle's present and previous owners, along with information about the car itself, such as make, model, vehicle identification number, engine size and colour.

It is illegal to sell a car without a valid V5C, and the document is also needed to obtain road tax or replacement number plates.
