Engine, V

This type of engine has two rows of cylinders arranged at a 30-90 degree angle to the common crankshaft. It is shaped like a V when viewed from the front.

V engines are more compact than comparable inline engines; for example a V-8 engine is considerably wider and shorter, than an inline-8.
