Unibody

Also known as Unitized Construction.

A type of body construction that incorporates the body and frame into one unit, providing structural strength and support for the car's mechanical components. The frame structure is welded to the bottom of the vehicle's body, offering a more rigid structure and better sound isolation than vehicles that use a separate body and frame. A unibody can make use of monocoque construction, or it can employ strong structural elements as an integral part of its construction.
