Buena Vista Park Residence

Description: The requested design guides consisted of, clarity, light, and volume. Design discussion referred to the building in terms of a living being with a face, skeleton of steel, organs, and skin.

As with all major residential construction in San Francisco, an involved process of neighborhood notification and consultation was followed during design development. An existing two-story bungalow was removed, which required additional neighborhood review.

The residence has three sleeping spaces, two bathrooms, a powder room, laundry, and voluminous living/kitchen space. In addition, a roof terrace, back terrace, and a two-car garage were included. The building revels in volume, gestures towards the views, and creates a feeling of movement through the site.
