Clearing Blockages

The first you are likely to know about a blockage is when a sink, basin, or WC won't empty, or gullies and manhole covers are overflowing outside, usually accompanied by a strong smell. The blockage may be in one of several places. If there is a strong smell but no evident blockage, ask your local Environmental Health department to check the drains.
