Shock Absorber

Also known as Dampers.

A device used primarily to dampen suspension oscillations, in order to control the speed at which the suspension's springs react to bumps and holes in the road surface. If the shock absorbers are too hard, the ride will be harsh and jarring; too soft and the car will bounce along the road and wallow in corners.
