Roadload Horsepower

The amount of power at the driving wheels needed to move a vehicle down the road at a steady speed. This power will vary depending on the vehicle’s speed, mechanical friction, the tyres' rolling resistance and aerodynamic drag.

The roadload horsepower differs from the engine power due to the various mechanical inefficiencies and power losses that occur between the engine flywheel and the driving wheels.
