A vehicle that was originally destined for other European markets, and brought into the UK by parties outside the manufacturer's official distribution chain. Although trim levels may differ to cars found in the UK, they should be mechanically identical; especially if they have been ordered to match the UK specification. It can be difficult to get a fair part-exchange price from a dealer for a parallel import, and it may be better to sell this type of car privately.
