Panhard Rod

Also known as a Track Bar.

A component of a car suspension system that provides lateral location of a rigid axle. It consists of a long, rigid bar running sideways, parallel to the rear axle, with one end attached to the axle and the other attached to the car body or chassis on the opposite side of the vehicle. The bar is attached with pivots that allow it to swivel upwards and downwards, so that the axle can move in the vertical plane only.
