Hybrid

A hybrid car uses more than one source of power, swapping between them as necessary whilst on the move, and even using both when full power is required. Hybrid cars on sale in the UK include the Honda Civic saloon and the Toyota Prius.

The majority of hybrid cars combine a petrol engine with electric power, with the electricity recharging as the car cruises or brakes. They generally have excellent fuel economy and produce low emissions.
