Constant Velocity Joint

Also known as CV Joint or Half Shaft.

An articulating, rotating shaft that transmits engine power from the transmission to the wheel. This allows the wheel to steer and follow suspension motion whilst receiving power. Used in independent rear suspension, front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive vehicles. Two CV joints are required; one for each side.
