Getting Started

To download and start listening to MP3s you'll need a computer, an Internet connection as well as speakers, a sound card and an MP3 player (software).

If you're not familiar with sound cards, don't worry - if you have speakers connected to your computer you'll have a sound card.

MP3 Lifecycle

  • MP3 files downloaded from the net to computer.
  • MP3 files transferred to CD or MP3 player.
  • Computer encodes files from an audio CD or collects them from MP3 players.
  • Audio is digitally compressed to create MP3 audio files.
  • Files can be transferred via the Internet.
