Four months before you reach State Pension age you should receive a claim form. If you have not received the form three months before you reach State Pension age, you should contact your local Pension Service office as soon as possible.
It is important that the Pension Service be sure of your identity when you make a claim. They may need to ask you about your background and look at any official documents you have to support the information you give.
