Location: Utah, USA
Despite its name, Bryce Canyon is actually a naturally formed horseshoe-shaped amphitheatre standing along the eastern edge of the Paunsaugunt Plateau in Southern Utah.
The eroding force of frost and the dissolving power of rain have shaped the colourful limestone rock of the Claron Formation into bizarre shapes, including slot canyons, windows, fins, and spires called 'hoodoos'. The red, orange and white colors of the rocks create a spectacular landscape.
This area also boasts some of the world's best air quality, offering panoramic views of three states and approaching 200 miles of visibility. This, coupled with the lack of nearby large light sources, creates unrivalled opportunities for stargazing.
