A Bank of Scotland mortgage is a Halifax mortgage- this site sells the same products (they're the same company) but is a touch more helpful than Halifax' own site. See Halifax for product range review.
The Bank of Scotland mortgage service is now part of the Halifax, the UK's most popular lender; and this site features many of the same promises offered by the Halifax- for example a mortgage promise within 15 minutes, and the same set of calculators.
The products are the same too, but in some areas this site is more informative than the Halifax. If you've ever wondered about CAT Standard mortgages (a double edged sword if ever there was one) this is a good starting point. This is also a clearer site for extras like homeowner and home improvement or equity release loans.
The other benefit of course is that if you're in Scotland, you have a recognised branch network at your disposal. One gripe- the branch locator didn't work when we tried it. In short, a Bank of Scotland mortgage is a Halifax mortgage; but this might be a friendlier way to get it.
