Also known as a 'Half-time/Full-time' bet, this wager involves predicting the outcome of a match at both half-time and full-time. Bets are quoted as the winner (or draw) for each half.
For example, if Leeds played Brighton, you might place a bet of "Draw-Leeds", indicating that you think that the match would be a draw at half time, but Leeds would win overall.
For each match, there are a possible nine combinations of winning results to choose from:
- Team A - Team A (i.e. Team A leads at half time, and wins overall)
- Team A - Team B
- Team A - Draw
- Team B - Team A
- Team B - Team B
- Team B - Draw
- Draw - Draw
- Draw - Team A
- Draw - Team B
For example, your favourite team might be quoted as 6/1 to win overall; however, if you were convinced that they are going to dominate the game throughout, you would receive better odds by putting a double result bet on for them to be winning at both half time AND full time - probably at around 12/1. Obviously the risk is greater as if your team is not winning at the interval, then the bet is lost regardless of whether they eventually win the match, say 4-1.
